Isn't Thurl Ravenscroft too easy, or did you pick one more obscure. (Hah, I'm not saying to see how many people know who Thurl Ravenscroft is).
They Might Be Giants - the live version of "She's Actual Size" with the drum solo segment. Probably not, it's probably something from "Spine". Let's say "Au Contraire".
Paul Anka - "Smells Like Teen Spirit". I should buy that album.
Jethro Tull - "Locomotive Breath"
Beatles - see, I could put Beatles on my list, and no one would ever guess any of my top three, at least. Too many. Oh, let's say, "Birthday".
The Who - "Baba O'Reilly"
Three Doors Down - "Kryptonite"
Actually, I knew you would know Thurl Ravenscroft but I figured you wouldn't say.
I figured no one else on this list would associate "Smells Like Teen Spirit" with Paul Anka, though it was obvious to me since we watched that Late Show performance together. For those who haven't heard it, it's a damn cool rendition.
OK, let's try a couple different guesses (I get one set per day, right? :-) )
The Might Be Giants: I'll stick with "The Spine" and guess "Stalk of Wheat".
Beatles: sooo maaany soongs, none of which I obviously associate with you. Hmm, seems like you liked "Glass Onion" when I played it in the car. Otherwise, I'd have to start picking some conventional hits.
Jethro Tull: let's go conventional here and guess "Aqualung"
The Who: "Behind Blue Eyes"
just so you don't waste a lot of time, I'll say that you're on the right track, Dad. You just haven't gotten the right one yet.
Muppets - Fraggle Rock theme song? Queen - Bicycle Race?
Aerosmith - Dude Looks Like a Lady?
I'll probably have some more guesses later.
Okay, since no one else has bitten, I'll give the answer for Thurl Ravenscroft - it has to be the Grinch song, right? I'm not sure what the official title is.
Beatles - Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da? Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey?
They Might Be Giants - Birdhouse in Your Soul? Twisting? (I think that's what it's called.)
I don't know enough Aerosmith or The Who songs to make a good guess on either of those, and I don't think I know any Spinal Tap songs, at least not by name. I could guess some Muppets songs, but you said it wasn't from the Muppet Movie, which is what most of my guesses would be.
My Guesses:
1. Beatles - Strawberry Fields
2. They Might Be Giants - Spider
6. Spinal Tap - Big Bottom
10. The Who - Pinball Wizard
