Captain's Log: 08/29/05
First English paper is progressing on schedule. Struggling to find a point in most of my Enterprise teacher's ramblings. So far we've learned how to get on the "u-drive"(where the syllabus will be posted) and the most basic aspects of economics. Barnes and Noble has yet to get my chemistry and Enterprise books to me...despite the fact that they had extra copies of the chemistry book on the shelves. My roommates parents visited yesterday, yet I didn't see them at all because I spent 4 hours getting the snot beat out of me(Combat Club). Saturday's corn festival was mainly just an outdoor flee market with overpriced food booth's, but I did get a giant Darth Vader pez dispenser half price. We shall see what the rest of the week shall bring.

No! Bad Ryan! No apostrophes for pluralizing words! Use an apostrophe for possesives! Also, flea market, unless they were selling devices to help you get away from things faster.
Oh, and do you have AIM? Email me your SN if you do.
Ok, so whoever goes back and spell checks a post is a really big nerd. I don't f-ing care. never comment on something like that again. it is really annoying
For Enterprise (in which they should show Scott Bakula on Star Trek?) they probably have more than half of the class who know nothing about economics. You just have to realize you're ahead of most everyone, and just breeze past the stuff you already know. It'll take unil the upper level business courses for you to learn new stuff (well, probably in accounting).
Even then, there's always review/base knowledge, because not everyone talkes the same set of classes. Ask Matt how many time he heard the same basic logic lectures.
Yeah. it does suck to hear the same things over and over again in different classes, but you have to realize that they structure these classes usually assuming you know very little other than what would have come up in a prereq class. Depending on the class, sometimes they have to assume that people who aren't majors are taking the class, so they have to go over the basics for them anyway. You'll eventually get into classes where they assume some knowledge anyway. It took a year and a half for me to get into a class where they assumed you knew at least one programming language.
And today, I heard the EXACT same lecture about Finite Automata as I have heard before...literally...they were the same slides and everything.
You guys are all just too smart for your own good, which is why high school was easy/boring for you. I know why you didn't like to do the homework--you really didn't need to cover the same material over and over and over again. You guys usually get it the first time.
So like Dad said--realize that you are ahead of the learning curve, keep up with the work you do need to turn in and you will eventually get to some material that actually challenges you.
And call your mother!
