Sangatsu Tsuitachi

To those that have been nudging me to update I must point out that I am actually updating sooner than I said I would.

School has been pretty busy lately, but right now I really don't have all that much to do.
Japanese: not much new to say here. Got an 92 on the recent test.
Speech: After I gave my first speech I was talking to the teacher as everyone was leaving, and he said that I had a good speech. It's always a good thing to have the teacher compliment you on
your speech.
Am. Diversity: This class is pretty damn boring. I don't really like the essay test format. However, I have been doing pretty well in there, and whether I like it or not essays are really the only way to test knowledge of the material.
Ideal of Democracy: Somewhat more interesting topics. The grade in this class so far is based on 2 easy 10 question quizzes. I'm really not sure If there is going to be anything more substantial affecting my grade.
Accounting: Still pretty easy to understand everything. I don't know what I got on the first test yet, but I knew the answer to pretty much everything.

Not much else has been going on since my last update. I've got a planning session with my advisor later today, so I'll know generally what I'll be taking next semester.

I need to get cake.

Inspector #3

In the year 2006 I resolve to:

Invade a small country.

Get your resolution here

This is actually my resolution every year, but I've only succeeded a few times.

Back at school again, and my life is as uninteresting as ever. 3 days into the new semester and my new roommate hasn't shown up. This leads me to believe he isn't coming and I have the room to myself this semester. Here are my first impression of my classes this semester:
Japanese: Pretty much the same as last semester, except with a few new faces. Most of my friends from this class last semester are in my class again this semester so that's good. Plus, there is a pretty cute girl sitting next to me, and she seems nice. Stay tuned for developments...
Ideal of Democracy: or, why the U.S. government is messed up. The teacher isn't quite a hippy, but he's close. I'm not sure if I'll actually like this class, but I don't think I'll hate it.
American Diversity: Basically, a history class that looks at the stuff most history classes skim over. The tests will all be in class essays, for which we have to buy exam bluebooks. I can't get over the fact that we have to pay to take the tests. I'm not sure if I'll actually hate this class, but i don't think I'll like it.
Speech: A speech class. The teacher is a graduate student, so grading might not be that tough. I'm pretty sure I'll be bored most days of this class.
Accounting: A lecture class that's usually taught in small classes. So far everything that's been taught I already know about accounting, but everything I know has been taught. In two days. Should be interesting.

That should be all for now. I'll probably post again in about two months.

Octopus Taco

So, Finals are coming up, and I have the worst exam schedule ever. This Saturday, I have my Japanese Final Exam at 8:00 in the morning. Next Friday, I have my Chemistry Final...at 8:00 in the morning. I also have some work I need to turn in next Wednesday for English and Enterprise, but that should be easy enough to finish this weekend.

I plan on doing my holiday shopping online this weekend, so if anyone has something they got somewhere besides Amazon, send me an e-mail. For those of you who have not yet bought gifts for me, I would like to add to my list the Xykon Quote #2 and Creature in the Darkness Quote #1 T-shirts from www.cafepress.com/orderofthestick.

My roommate wanted to room with a buddy of his next semester so, being the nice guy that I am, I agreed to find a different room. Luckily, the room just down the hall(Marshall 305) was open for next semester. My new room will be further from the bathroom, but also further away from the stupid pranks the guys around here pull on each other. I like cheese more than the average man, but not when it's smeared on my door.

Sweet 16

So, I registered for classes for next semester. For those who care about my schedule, read on. For those who don't, I'll talk about City of Villains later in the post. For those who don't care about either, go away. For next semester, I decided to take 16 hours worth of classes. The 4 hour credit difference pretty much means I have an hour and a half added to my tuesday and thursday schedules, minus my current tuesday lab, and an hour on Friday. This is how it breaks down:

MWF 1:00-1:50>Japanese(year 1, part 2)-not on Friday
2:00-2:50>Communication
3:00-3:50>American Diversity

T-Th 11:00-12:15>Ideal of Democracy
1:00-1:50>Japanese
2:00-3:15>Financial Accounting

American Diversity and Ideal of Democracy are both Middle Core Gen Ed classes. American Diversity sounds pretty lame, but so did everything in its category. Oh well.

And now it's time for...EVIL. Although there has been some lag due to so many people playing, I can't resist City of Villains. I've made 2 characters so far, which I think will definitely be my primary and secondary characters for awhile. The first is a Dark Melee/Invulnerable Mutation Brute named Black Rhino. He's pretty much a clone of White Ryno, except that he's completely Black(duh) and has some evil decorations(Chains around gloves, shoulder spikes and skulls). My second is a Robot/Poison Mastermind named Lord Alkar, currently with only one mechanical buddy named Freddy. He wears a derby and normal clothes, and has a scar over his right eye. He also has a robotic right arm, and a belt with ampules to store his poison. Right now Black Rhino is level 6 and Alkar is level 2.

Time to kill all humans.

I got a rock

Guess I'll have to buy my own candy.

So, after the Sox won the world series there was the predictable riot throughout the campus and surrounding area. I tagged along just to see the insanity. There were lots of street signs bent over, and some dumbasses tipped over a trailer and almost hit a moving car with it. I left when I heard the riot was headed towards I-55. Around six the next morning, I briefly woke up and noticed that there was no power in the dorm. I later learned this was somehow a result of the riot. Dumbasses.

Rocky Horror Picture Show was awesome. There were scantily clad women. The audience participation adds even more hilarity to the movie, although I don't think the props added much. The Combat Club Halloween party was also great. I went as Death's loser younger brother.I just wore my ISU shirt and a jacket, put on a death mask and topped it off with my Redbirds cap. It worked out pretty well. Not much worth writing about at the party. Just a cool party.

I finally started CoH again this morning. The one thing I noticed is that they finally fixed death animations which was a pet peeve of mine. Now, a villain will actually interact with terrain instead of just falling through it. I look forward to starting the villainy goodness.

That's all for now. I have to go out and wait for the Great Pumpkin.

Grrr...Arrgh

So, it's been forever since I've posted anything, let alone anything not random. Some will be able to tell by my post title that I've watched way too much Firefly lately(if that's even possible). Now I just need to see the movie. In Spiderman news, the villains of the next movie have been revealed as Venom(Topher Grace) and Sandman(Thomas Haden Church). I also heard a rumor that Venom will use the "Ultimate" origin which would not require alot of backround. Or maybe they will make up something that both Venom and Sandman could use. Also, I find that article title hilarious.

I'm pretty sure the stupidity of the high-school visitors was contagious, because people around here have been slower and dumber than usual. I'm working on a new theory about how the elevators here work. If you have a full elevator, it will stop on every floor trying to pick up more people. If the elevator is relatively empty, it will go to its destination without a single stop. This seems to happen regardless if it's near the hour(people going to and from classes). I've also learned to get on elevators going down from the lobby when I want to go up, because it takes exactly 1 second to go from lobby to ground and I'll have the elevator to myself on the way up.

In school news, it's been a pretty good midterm for me. My English paper for Friday is done, and probably better than my other papers. I got an 18 out of 20 on my Chemistry exam, and a 98% on my Japanese test. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten the Chem exam perfect if I had done the online review, but it is still an A and I know what to do for future exams. For the Japanese test I just messed up the stroke order for mo. Still no test or major assignments in Enterprise. I'm pretty sure that I'll change my major to Business Information Systems. This may sound boring to others, but for some reason it appeals to me. Not that I care what you think anyway.
